"A Weekend in the Country" The Cast of A Little Night Music

It’s a Big Opening Night for A Little Night Music this Friday!

“Another op’nin, another show,” wrote the great Cole Porter. And while the opening of TheatreWorks’ A Little Night Music is as lavish as it is for all our productions (i.e., free champagne, hors d’oeuvres, hobnobbing with the cast and crew), the show itself is more extravagant than anything you’ve seen on a local stage in years.

The costumes. The sets. The music. The production value. And, of course, the performances will simply sweep you off your feet. Opening night still has a few seats available — so make your reservations today!

Casting Call for Christopher Durang’s
Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge

September 29 and 30, 2008, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking a cast of six men and six women — aged 20 to 60-plus — for its upcoming holiday comedy, Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge, by award-winning playwright Christopher Durang. For character breakdowns and directions, click here.

In this outrageously funny parody of “A Christmas Carol,” author Christopher Durang focuses one of Dickens’ most insignificant characters — poor Bob Cratchit’s wife. One day she flips, takes to drink, and tries to throw herself off a bridge, when she runs headlong into the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, as well as the curmudgeonly Ebenezer Scrooge. But this time around it seems that something is wrong with the Ghosts’ mystic powers, putting Scrooge and Mrs. Bob on a hilarious collision course with other Christmas classics such as It’s a Wonderful Life, The Gift of the Magi, and many more. In spite of all this mayhem, Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge is safe and fun for the whole family.

Auditions will be held at TheatreWorks, 5 Brookside Ave., New Milford (next to the CVS) this coming Monday (September 29th) and Tuesday (September 30th) from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m

English accents are required for most roles and singing experience is preferred. Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge is under the direction of Beth Bonnabeau-Harding of New Milford.

All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome. No appointments are necessary. TheatreWorks offers a stipend to all performers, technicians, and directors.

Rehearsals start in October with performances beginning December 5 and running through December 31 on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays.
