TheatreWorks 2009 Season Opens this Friday with Rabbit Hole

To launch its 42nd season, TheatreWorks New Milford is proud to present the Winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, RABBIT HOLE, by David Lindsay-Abaire.

Kevin Sosbe as Howie

RABBIT HOLE charts the journey of Becca and Howie Corbett, a typical, suburban couple from Westchester County whose world is turned upside down in the wake of a life-shattering accident.  Somewhat lost, but always acutely aware of what is missing, they must find a common ground in order to overcome their grief.  A graceful drama of what comes after tragedy, this lyrical and surprisingly humorous story gives way to a sad, sweet release about the nuances of the human heart and the capacity to overcome loss.

Rob Onorato as Jason

Directed by Susan Pettibone, RABBIT HOLE features some of the area’s finest actors: Heather Nicolson; Rob Onorato; and Kevin Sosbe, Jackie Decho-Holm, and Sonnie Osborne.

“We have such a strong cast married with an extremely gripping story,” said producer Richard Pettibone. “It’s really the ‘perfect storm’ for a great night of theatre, one that will leave audiences with a myriad of emotions long after they’ve left their seats.”

The production crew includes Technical Director / Master Carpenter, Scott Wyshynski (Washington); Stage Manager, KC Ross (Thomaston); and Set Designer, Erik Diaz (Brighton, Mass.). Click Here to order your tickets today!

The Set for Rabbit Hole

Casting Call:
A.R. Gurney's
The Fourth Wall

TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking two men, ages 25-60, and two women, ages 30-55, for its spring comedy by “Sylvia” author A.R. Gurney, THE FOURTH WALL.

THE FOURTH WALL takes interior decorating to theatrical and hilarious new heights. Peggy, an idyllic upper-middle-class housewife who usually possesses exquisite taste, is overcome by a mysterious impulse to redecorate her living room as if it were a stage set. All who enter begin to behave as if they were acting in a play. Unable to cope any further, Peggy’s confused husband Roger summons an old friend, Julia, for comfort — and perhaps a bit more — as well as an aloof theatre professor who Roger hopes can “Doctor” Peggy’s play and bring it to a close, so Roger and Peggy can get on with their so-called “normal” lives. THE FOURTH WALL will be directed by Sonnie Osborne.

The auditions will be held at TheatreWorks on Monday, February 23 and Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
