For Artists
TheatreWorks holds open auditions for all its regularly scheduled productions.
The performers, directors, and designers drawn to this company – both amateur and professional – have done so because of the artistic opportunities TheatreWorks offers: creative challenges, personal growth, and the chance to work on great plays that deserve to be seen in this area.
"All the best performers bring to their role something more,
something different than what the author put on paper. That's what makes theatre live.
That's why it persists."
~Stephen Sondheim
Open Auditions/Calls
TheatreWorks seeks actors through open auditions, which are open to anyone who wants to audition, regardless of your background or experience. Check back for the latest postings.
Writer’s & Actor’s Workshop
A great opportunity for local playwrights to have their work read in a supportive and judgement-free environment. This is held typically the second Wednesday of the month at 7pm.
Audition Tips
A casting director has usually made their decision within the first ten seconds of the audition. TheatreWorks has tips to make them sit up and take notice of you.
Alumni
TheatreWorks is truly a community theatre, created by and for residents of Western Connecticut and beyond. Our alumni archive includes directors, cast, crew, and other volunteers.
