TheatreWorks Holds Casting Call for Alan Ayckbourn’s Season’s Greetings September 28 and 29, 7:00 – 9:00pm
NEW MILFORD, CONN. (September 14, 2009) – TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking a cast of five men, age 25 to 65, and four women, age 25 to 55, for its Holiday comedy, SEASON’S GREETINGS, by playwright Alan Ayckbourn, often referred to as “The British Neil Simon.”
SEASON’S GREETINGS finds Belinda and Neville at their quaint English home on Christmas Eve. Neville has forgotten to buy his wife a gift. Uncle Harvey absorbs a non-stop marathon of TV action films. Neville’s friend Eddie and his wife are at each others throats. And Dr. Bernard rehearses an unintentionally hysterical puppet show of “The Three Little Pigs” while his wife Phyllis gets sloshed on the cooking wine. It all sounds pretty “normal” until Belinda’s sister Rachel invites her friend Clive to the home – and then things really start to go awry.
SEASON’S GREETINGS is under the direction of Glenn R. Couture of Ansonia.
Auditions will be held at TheatreWorks, 5 Brookside Ave., New Milford (next to the CVS) on Monday, September 28 and Tuesday, September 29 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome. No appointments are necessary. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. PLEASE NOTE: ENGLISH ACCENTS ARE A MUST. TheatreWorks offers a stipend to all performers, technicians, and directors. For audition sides, character breakdowns, and directions, visit: WWW.THEATREWORKS.US.
Rehearsals begin in October with performances beginning December 4 and running through December 31 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
