What a wonderful way to spend a midsummer's evening…

Come celebrate summer and support our local theatre treasure at the same time! Please join us for an evening filled with wonderful food and drinks, exciting entertainment, and a Chinese auction.  All proceeds will be allocated to our Building Maintenance Fund.

Our last renovation took place 10 years ago, and the list of planned improvements includes an upstairs bathroom and box office.

Ted Hine with Bob & Loretta Kretchko at their home on Aspetuck Ave, New Milford

Long-time New Milford resident and TheatreWorks "Angel" Ted Hine has returned this year to assume the "Leading Role" of this event, making a very personal commitment to help keep TheatreWorks in top-notch shape.  His generous donation, along with our other supporters and in-kind sponsors, has made it possible for us to present you with an evening you won't forget.

You’ll be greeted with champagne at the theatre, where you can browse the exciting items up for auction. We’ll whisk you off to the Cocktail Party for summer yummies like chilled soup shooters, Thai shrimp skewers, goat cheese fritters and chili in crispy corn cups, as well refreshing drinks for every taste. We will return you to the theatre for a Chinese auction and an 8:30PM Cabaret curtain. Dessert and coffee will be served.

A unique selection of auction items will be available, including a Hunt Hill Farm classical music show, a selection of signed New Milford pottery, designer sunglasses, garden sculptures, local artwork, massage and Pilates sessions, and an autographed book “Finishing the Hat” by Mr. Stephen Sondheim.

An abundance of talent awaits you at the theatre! This year’s cabaret theme is “TheatreWorks: Past, Present, and Building for Our Future” and is produced and directed by the talented Robin Frome. The show features familiar faces and voices from past shows at TheatreWorks as well as new performers.

Won't you consider joining us on Saturday, August 6th? Tickets priced at $75 are available on our website www.theatreworks.us or by calling the box office at 860-350-6863.

Everybody Cut Footloose!

TheatreWorks Stage 2, a program led by Beth Bonnabeau, is geared for teens who are interested in learning the craft of live theatrical performance.  From set design and construction to taking a final bow, these students learn about and participate in all aspects of theatre culminating in three performances for all to see.  This year Stage 2 presents the energetic musical, Footloose.

Footloose explodes onto the stage with classic 80s anthems including Holding Out For A Hero, Almost Paradise, Let's Hear It for the Boy, and of course the title track, Footloose.  Life in small-town Bomont is peaceful until City Boy, Ren, arrives.  Breaking every taboo, Ren brings dance back to the heart of a town held back by the memory of a tragedy.  Based on the hit 80's movie, Footloose has become a stage musical phenomenon.

Tickets are $15 and available for performances on Friday July 29 and Saturday July 30 at 8:00pm, and Sunday July 31 at 2:00pm and will take place at the theatre, 5 Brookside Avenue, New Milford, CT.
