Calendar Notice for “The Great American Trailer Park Musical” May 20 to June 19, 2011
NEW MILFORD, CONN. (April 8, 2011) – This spring, TheatreWorks New Milford will be presenting the outrageous musical comedy, THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL, with Music and Lyrics by David Nehls and book by Betsy Kelso.
Set in the fictional town of Starke, Florida, in the Armadillo Acres trailer park, THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARKMUSICAL centers around regular guy Norbert and his agoraphobic wife, Jeannie, whose marriage is threatened by Armadillo Acres’ newest resident – a hot young stripper named Pippi. This hilarious country-rock and blues musical about adultery, ’80s nostalgia, spray cheese, road kill, hysterical pregnancy, a broken electric chair, kleptomania, strippers, flan, and disco is an absolute hootenanny of a show.
THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL features some of the region’s finest actors: Justin Boudreau (Pelham, NY), Tracy Hurd (Brookfield), Michael Wright (Sandy Hook), Robyn Maitland and Ryan Reynolds (both New Fairfield), Deanna Chorman and Elyse Jasensky (both Danbury), and Abigail Nissenbaum and Beth Harvison (both New Milford).
The production is under the direction of Glenn R. Couture of Ansonia and the musical direction of Dan Ringuette of Torrington.
THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL runs May 20,21 27,28 June 3,4,5 10,11,12 17,18,19. Curtain time is 8:00 p.m. Fridays & Saturdays, with 2:00 p.m. Sunday matinees on June 5 and 12. Tickets for all shows are $28 for reserved seating.
On Thursday, May 19, senior citizens are invited to a free dress rehearsal at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at 8:00 p.m. is TheatreWorks’ Pay-What-You-Want night. At this performance, you name the price for your ticket.
