TheatreWorks Kids present Willy Wonka Jr. Saturday December 10 at 11:00am and 2:00pm and Saturday December 17 at 11:00 and 2:00pm

NEW MILFORD, CONN. (November 29, 2011) – Tickets are now on sale for TheatreWorks Kids’ production of Willy Wonka Jr. which will be presented on Saturday December 10 at 11:00am and 2:00pm and Saturday December 17 at 11:00 and 2:00pm at 5 Brookside Avenue, New Milford, CT.

The TW Kids program, specially designed for grade school kids, focuses on the craft of acting, along with lessons throughout the process of mounting a production, vocal skills and basic choreography. This program inspires creativity, confidence and a sense of community through the exploration and practice of theatre skills. The TW Kids after-school and summer programs have helped bring the joy of theatre to many children and given each and every one of them a chance to learn and grow.

Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to life in this stage adaptation of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory which features the songs from the classic family film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The memorable score features “The Candy Man,” “Pure Imagination,” “Oompa Loompa,” and “I Want It Now” by the Academy® and Grammy® award winners Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, neatly fitted into a new script adapted under the auspices of the Dahl Estate.

“It’s a great bunch of kids, I am enjoying every minute with them!” says Beth Bonnabeau, the course instructor and director of this production. “They bring a great deal of imagination to their characters and their enthusiasm is contagious!”

This production is kid-friendly (lap sitters under 2 are free!) and fun for the whole family.
