TheatreWorks TWKids Winter Program Begins Saturday January 28
NEW MILFORD, CONN. (January 4, 2012) – TheatreWorks New Milford’s TWKids Program begins its winter program on Saturday, January 28, culminating with performances in March. The workshop includes a 90-minute skills class once a week after school and rehearsals on Saturday mornings with instructor Beth Bonnabeau.
Ms. Bonnabeau has put together an incredible original program called Broadway Bedlam! Have you ever dream of playing Jean Val Jean from Les Miserables, but you’re a girl? Or how about Anita from West Side Story….if only you weren’t a blue-eyed blonde? Well, here’s your chance! In this romp of a musical revue through Broadway classics, we’ll explore what it feels like to make those “impossible” theatrical dreams come true. From an all-male version of “Matchmaker” from Fiddler on the Roof to a rousing female version of “Luck Be A Lady” from Guys & Dolls, we’ll break all the rules…and have one heck of a time in the process!
The TWKids program, specially designed for grades 2 – 8, focuses on the craft of acting, along with lessons throughout the process of mounting a production, vocal skills and basic choreography. This program inspires creativity, confidence and a sense of community through the exploration and practice of theatre skills. The TW Kids after-school and summer programs have helped bring the joy of theatre to many children and given each and every one of them a chance to learn and grow.
Tuition is $350 per student, and registration and further information is available online at http://theatreworks.us/kids.php, or by calling (860) 350-6863. Enrollment is limited so we encourage you to register as soon as possible.
