TheatreWorks to Host Third Annual “Cocktails & Cabaret” Benefit Saturday, August 4, 2012
NEW MILFORD, CONN. (July 2, 2012) – Come join us once again for a mid-summer’s evening at “Cocktails & Cabaret,” a benefit for TheatreWorks New Milford’s Building Fund. The event will be held on Saturday, August 4, with cocktails from 6:00 – 7:30PM at the home of Pat Catchpole – 13 Aspetuck Avenue, and the Cabaret curtain going up at 8:30PM at TheatreWorks.
Two years ago, lifelong New Milford resident and Board Member Ted Hine assumed the “Leading Role” for TheatreWorks New Milford’s first annual Cocktails & Cabaret fundraiser. Mr. Hine has continued to bring his passion for both theatre and historic preservation to reprise his leading role support of this event, now in its third year. “As a member of one of the oldest families of New Milford,” Ted says, “I have a passion for helping to preserve New Milford’s past. The economic and cultural impact of TheatreWorks to New Milford and the surrounding area is beyond measure. The building’s historical significance cannot be overlooked.
Joining Mr. Hine in sponsoring roles this year are the CCF (Connecticut Community Foundation), Norman Adler & Michele Shackelford, Bob Kretchko Antiques, Executive Cuisine, Union Savings Bank, Tom & Carol Broesler, La Piccolina Ristorante, Law Offices of Cecilia Buck-Taylor, Timothy Beard, and John & Kathy Bolster. Executive Cuisine has prepared a wonderful menu of hot and cold appetizers.
Tickets are $75, with sponsorships still available for Producer Roles ($2,500), Leading Roles ($1,000), Supporting Roles ($500) Cameo Roles ($250), and Stage Manager Roles($150). Sponsors will receive tickets to the event as well as various levels of publicity benefits based on the role.
Event proceeds will benefit the theatre’s Building Fund, designated for ongoing maintenance and upgrades that ticket sales alone cannot cover. The theatre building is a historic church built in 1901.
The theme of this year’s Cabaret, directed by Tony Saracino and Robyn Maitland is “Cocktail Party!” Our performers will engage in their own version of a cocktail party on stage, breaking into song or scenes whenever the mood strikes them. TheatreWorks welcomes back some familiar faces and voices as well as new performers.
Auction items and door prizes will complete an evening of great entertainment in support of TheatreWorks. Tickets can be purchased online at theatreworks.us or call 860-350-6863. For further information you may contact Ted Hine at (860) 946-0019 or via email thine@theatreworks.us.
