TheatreWorks Adds Three Performances to ‘The Game’s Afoot’ on January 4, 9 & 10

NEW MILFORD, CONN. (December 17, 2014) – Due to an unprecedented demand for tickets, resulting in many sold-out houses, TheatreWorks New Milford is adding three performances to Ken Ludwig’s farcical Holiday whodunit, THE GAME’S AFOOT OR HOLMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS.

Extended performances are Sunday, January 4 at 2:00 p.m., as well as Friday and Saturday, January 9 and 10, at 8:00 p.m.

The original run still includes performances on December 19,20,21  27,28  31  January 2,3,4  9,10. Curtain time is 8:00 p.m. Fridays & Saturdays, with 2:00 p.m. Sunday matinees on December 21,28 and January 4. Tickets for all shows are $23 for reserved seating. Students and Military personnel with ID will be admitted for $18.

On New Year’s Eve, December 31 at 8:00 p.m., there will be one gala fundraising performance with hors d’oeuvres and an open bar of wine, beer, and soft drinks. Tickets for this event are $75.

The play is set in December 1936 and centers on Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes. Gillettehas invited his fellow cast-members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Then it’s up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this farcical whodunit set during the Christmas Holidays.

As houses continue to sell out, it’s recommended to check for seating availability online at THEATREWORKS.US or by calling the box office at (860) 350-6863. Reservations can be secured either way.

TheatreWorks is an award-winning, non-Equity theatre company, named Best Community Theater in Connecticut for 2014 by Connecticut Magazine. TheatreWorks is located on 5 Brookside Avenue , just off Route 202 (next to the CVS), in New Milford, CT.
