Calendar Notice for George Orwell’s “Animal Farm” May 5-27
NEW MILFORD, CONN. (March 23, 2017) – On May 5, TheatreWorks New Milford will premiere George Orwell’s satire, Animal Farm, adapted by Ian Wooldridge.
This adaptation is a simple but powerful dramatization of Orwell’s famous satire on the perils of Stalinism. It closely follows Orwell’s book retaining its affection for the animals, as well as the incisiveness of the message.
The production features a cast of outstanding regional actors: John Taylor, Viv Berger, Sonnie Osborne, Alex Echevarria, Joan Wyner, Izzy Watson, Jocelyn Beard, Jeff Miller, Maxwell Diaz, Teri Gatten, Rob Pawlikowski, Adele Burke, James McGuinness, and Lucy McKay.
The play is under the direction and design of Kevin Sosbe of New Milford.
Animal Farm runs May 5,6 11,12,13 19,20,21 26 and 27 . Curtain time is 8:00 p.m. Fridays & Saturdays, with a 2:00 p.m. Sunday matinee on May 21. Tickets for all shows are $23.00 for reserved seating. Students and Military personnel with ID will be admitted for $18.00.
On Thursday, May 4, Senior Citizens are invited to a free dress rehearsal at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11 at 8:00 p.m. is TheatreWorks’ Pay-What-You-Want night. At this performance, you name the price for your ticket.
