RENT TheatreWorks New Milford Announces Stage 2 Production
New Milford, CONN, July 27, 2010 – TheatreWorks Stage 2 Program will present Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer-prize winning Broadway musical RENT, based loosely on Puccini’s opera La Bohème. It follows a year in the lives of seven friends living the disappearing Bohemian lifestyle in New York’s East Village.
The cast includes Abby Nissenbaum (New Milford), Ryan Reynolds (New Fairfield), Chris Johnson (Brookfield), Curtis Dunn (Thomaston), Joey Antonios (Thomaston), Gloria Antonios (Thomaston), Jessica Bradley (New Milford), Billy Hicks (New Milford). Also appearing are Emma Nissenbaum (New Milford), Dana Greenfield (Sandy Hook), Louis Levine (Brookfield), Katherine Dahm (Brookfield), Victoria Dahm (Brookfield), Kate Leier (New Milford), Lauren DiTullio (Brookfield), and Tommy Ovitt (Gaylordsville).
This production will be directed by Beth Bonnabeau, with the help of assistant director, Joe Harding. The music director/ choreographer is Dave Anctil and stage manager: Taylor Paul. The set and costumes were designed by Rob Onorato.
TheatreWorks Stage 2 programs are designed to give kids a chance experience the thrill and excitement of being on stage. Throughout the process of mounting a production, students learn acting and vocal skills, along with basic choreography. The program inspires creativity, confidence and a sense of community through the exploration and practice of theatre skills. The TW Kids programs have helped bring the joy of theatre to many children and given each and every one of them a chance to learn and grow.
Performances will be held on August 6th at 8pm, August 7th at 2pm & 8pm, and August 8th at 2pm. Tickets are $15.00 and can be purchased here: http://theatreworks.us/index.php.
