Calendar Notice for Young Frankenstein May 4 to June 2, 2018

NEW MILFORD, CONN. (March 23, 2018) – On May 4, TheatreWorks New Milford will open their first musical of the season, Young Frankenstein by Mel Brooks.

Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced “Fronk-en-steen”) inherits his family’s estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor (pronounced “Eye-gore”), and a sexy lab assistant, Inga, Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. “It’s alive!” he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather’s. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds.

This production is under the direction of Jocelyn Beard of Wingdale, NY, the musical director is Mary Jane Phelan of Pawling, NY and the choreographer is Marisa Caron of Brewster. The scenic design is by Francis A. Daley and lighting design by Peter Petrino. The cast includes Joey DeVellis, Matthew Horowitz, Maya Daley, Ashley McLeod, Lana Peck, Michael Wright, Shawn Brown, Patrick Spaulding, Jerusha Wright, Christina Van De Water, Elizeth Brito, Erin Walsh, Chris Marker, Helaine Miserendino, Tarah Vega, Isidora Naples and Collin Kent Larson.

Young Frankenstein runs Fridays and Saturdays from May 4 through Saturday June 2. Curtain time is 8:00 p.m. on Fridays & Saturdays, and 2:00 p.m. on two Sunday matinees on May 20th and 27th. Tickets are $30 for reserved seating. Students and Military personnel and Veterans with ID will be admitted for $25.00.

On Thursday, May 3, Senior Citizens are invited to a free dress rehearsal at 8:00 p.m. Thursday May 10at 8:00 p.m. is TheatreWorks’ Pay-What-You-Want night where you name the price of your ticket.

This production may not be suitable for children under 12.

TheatreWorks has been awarded “Best Small Theater in Connecticut” by Connecticut Magazine (2017) and is a recipient of the Northwest CT Arts Council CultureMAX Award. They are a non-Equity theatre company located at 5 Brookside Avenue, just off Route 202 (next to the CVS), in New Milford, CT.

Parking is located behind the Catherine E. Lillis Administration Building at 50 East Street, New Milford.
