TheatreWorks Holds Casting Call for John Cariani’s ALMOST MAINE Monday, September 27 and Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

NEW MILFORD, CONN. (September 11, 2010) – TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking men and women ages 20-50 for its upcoming evocative and poignant play, ALMOST MAINE, by John Cariani.

On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend-almost-in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

ALMOST MAINE is under the direction of Glenn Couture of Ansonia.  The auditions will be held at TheatreWorks,  5 Brookside Avenue, New Milford, CT, on Monday, September 27 and Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  All roles are available for both professionals and amateurs. The audition will consist of readings from the script. No appointments are necessary. TheatreWorks offers a stipend to all performers, technicians, and directors. For character breakdowns, audition sides, and directions to the Theatre, please visit:  http://theatreworks.us/actors/index.php beginning September 13.

Rehearsals begin in early October (usually Monday through Thursday evenings) with performances from December 3 to18 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and a Sunday performance at 2:00 p.m. on December 19.  There is also a New Years Eve gala performance on December 31.

TheatreWorks is an award-winning, non-Equity theatre company located on 5 Brookside Avenue, just off Route 202 (next to the CVS), in New Milford, CT. 860-350-6863, http://theatreworks.us.
