TheatreWorks New Milford Adds Performance of ‘The Philadelphia Story’ Additional matinee to be presented Sunday, December 30
NEW MILFORD, CONN. (December 17, 2007) – Due to popular demand (and a bit of snow) TheatreWorks has added an additional performance to its hot winter show, the classic romantic comedy, THE PHILADELPHIA STORY, on Sunday, December 30, at 2:00 p.m.
Set in a wealthy Philadelphia suburb in 1939, THE PHILADELPHIA STORY centers on rich, spoiled socialite Tracy Lord — a woman of high ideals and low tolerance for human frailties ? especially in a husband. Recently divorced from C. K. Dexter Haven, she is about to marry nouveau riche George Kittredge. Hoping to prevent the new marriage, Haven returns the day before the ceremony. Wedding preparations are further complicated when Tracy is blackmailed by a sleazy tabloid publisher into granting an exclusive story to reporter Mike Connor. As the wedding nears, Tracy finds herself torn romantically between Mike, Dexter, and George.
THE PHILADELPHIA STORY runs December 28, 29, and 31. Curtain time for these performances is 8:00 p.m. The added performance is December 30 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets for shows are $20 for reserved seating. PLEASE NOTE: THERE ARE ONLY A FEW SEATS REMAINING FOR THE NEW YEAR’S EVE GALA.
On New Year’s Eve, December 31, at 8:00 p.m. there will be one gala performance with hors d’oeuvres and an open bar of wine, beer and soft drinks. Tickets for this event are $35.
Reservations can be made online at WWW.THEATREWORKS.US or by calling the box office at (860) 350-6863.
