TheatreWorks New Milford Holds Casting Call for Bonnie & Clyde May 5 & 6, 2014

NEW MILFORD, CONN. (April 16, 2014) – TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking a cast of 1 man and 1 woman (ages 17 to 35) for its upcoming summer production, the riveting drama BONNIE & CLYDE by Adam Peck.

Based on the true story, BONNIE & CLYDE is an intimate re-telling of the final hours of two young people who stopped at nothing to realize their American dreams. Crossing the border of an unnamed state in a stolen Ford V-8 with a trunk of sawn-off shotguns and bootleg whiskey, Bonnie and Clyde have found one last place to hide. Time is ticking – they’re on the run from the law and from reality. With humor, desperation, and tenderness, these legendary outlaws are made human again, resolving their issues and getting their affairs in order. This critically-acclaimed play makes its East Coast premiere 80 years after the couple’s final days.

Auditions will be held at TheatreWorks, 5 Brookside Ave., New Milford (next to the CVS) on Monday, May 5 and Tuesday, May 6 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

BONNIE & CLYDE is under the direction of Joseph Russo of New Milford. The production is not based on the 1967 film or the 2011 Broadway musical of the same name.

Auditions will consist of reading from the script. All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome. No appointments are necessary. TheatreWorks offers a stipend to all performers, technicians, and directors. Auditioners should be prepared to demonstrate an approximate light Texan accent. Rehearsals begin in May with performances running July 11 to August 2. TheatreWorks is an award-winning, non-Equity theatre company located on 5 Brookside Avenue, just off Route 202 (next to the CVS), in New Milford, CT.
