TheatreWorks New Milford Holds Casting Call for Noël Coward’s ‘Private Lives’ August 22 – 23

NEW MILFORD , CONN. (August 5 , 2016) – TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking a cast for Noël Coward’s classic comedy Private Lives. Actors sought are three women (ages  20 to 55) and 2 men (ages 30 to 50).

In this classic, sophisticated comedy of manners, divorcees Elyot and Amanda unwittingly book adjoining rooms while honeymooning with their new spouses. Realizing they’ve made a pair of mistaken marriages, they attempt to escape their partners. Under cover of darkness, they flee their honeymoon suites for Amanda’s Paris flat. When they are discovered later by their jilted lovers, all four individuals find themselves in the most compromising of situations.

Appointments are required for these auditions. Please email director Frank Arcaro at frank.arcaro@gmail.com before the dates listed to schedule an audition time between 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 22 or Tuesday, August 23. Auditions will be held at TheatreWorks, 5 Brookside Ave., New Milford, CT (next to the CVS).

Actors do not have to be the ages listed but must be able to believably play within the ranges specified. Auditions will consist of reading from the script. All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome. With the exception of the character of Louise, all should audition using an upper-class English manner of speaking. Rehearsals begin October 17 with performances running December 1 through January 7, 2017. There will be a initial cast meeting on October 3.
