TheatreWorks New Milford Holds Casting Call for Sarah Ruhl’s Stage Kiss August 28th & 29th by appointment only

NEW MILFORD, CONN. (August 10, 2017) – TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking a cast of three females and four males for Sarah Ruhl’s critically acclaimed romantic comedy Stage Kiss.  Auditions will be BY APPOINTMENT ONLY in ten  minute increments on Monday August 28 and Tuesday August 29 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Please contact the theatre at 860-350-6863 to schedule an appointment. The director is Nina A gostine Smith of Waterbury.

Art imitates Life. Life imitates Art. When two actors with a history are thrown together as romantic leads in a forgotten 1930’s melodrama, they quickly lose touch with reality as the story onstage follows them offstage. Stage Kiss captures Sarah Ruhl’s singular voice. It is a charming tale about what happens when lovers share a stage kiss-or when actors share a real one.

All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome. TheatreWorks offers a stipend to all performers, technicians, and directors.  AUDITION REQUIREMENTS CAN BE FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE http://theatreworks.us/actors/index.php

Rehearsals begin in October with performances running weekends December 8 through January 6 . Note that we will have a performance on New Year’s Eve (December 31) as well.

TheatreWorks is an award-winning, non-Equity theatre company, named Best Community Theater in Connecticut by Connecticut Magazine. The Theatre is located at 5 Brookside Avenue , just off Route 202 (next to the CVS), in New Milford , CT. Parking is located behind the Catherine E. Lillis Administration Building at 50 East Street, New Milford.
