TheatreWorks New Milford Holds Casting Call for ‘Seminar’ December 5 – 6

NEW MILFORD , CONN. (November 16, 2015) – TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking a cast of 3 men (ages 20 to 70) and 2 women (ages 20 to 40) for Seminar, the premiere show of TheatreWorks’ 2016 Season.

In this provocative comedy from Pulitzer Prize nominee Theresa Rebeck, four aspiring young novelists sign up for private writing classes with Leonard, an international literary figure. Under his recklessly brilliant and unorthodox instruction, some thrive and others flounder, alliances are made and broken, sex is used as a weapon and hearts are unmoored. The wordplay is not the only thing that turns vicious as innocence collides with experience in this biting comedy that took Broadway by storm.

Auditions will be held at TheatreWorks, 5 Brookside Ave., New Milford (next to the CVS) on Saturday, December 5 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 6 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Actors do not have to be the ages listed but must be able to believably play within the ranges specified. Auditions will consist of reading from the script. All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome. No appointments are necessary. TheatreWorks offers a stipend to all performers, technicians, and directors. For character breakdowns, auditions sides, and to get more info, visit theatreworks.us/actors.

Seminar is under the direction of Alicia Dempster of Danbury.

Rehearsals begin in January with performances running February 19 to March 12, 2016.
