TheatreWorks New Milford Holds Casting Call for “The Game’s Afoot OR Holmes for the Holidays” September 22 & 23, 2014
NEW MILFORD, CONN. (September 8, 2014) – TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking a cast of 3 men (ages 20 to 60) and 5 women (ages 20 to 80) for its upcoming Holiday production, the hilarious Ken Ludwig whodunit, THE GAME’S AFOOT OR HOLMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS.
It’s December 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast-members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Then it’s up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this farcical whodunit set during the Christmas holidays
Auditions will be held at TheatreWorks, 5 Brookside Ave., New Milford (next to the CVS) on Monday, September 22 and Tuesday, September 23 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. THE GAME’S AFOOT is under the direction of Glenn R. Couture of Ansonia.
Auditions will consist of reading from the script. All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome. No appointments are necessary. TheatreWorks offers a stipend to all performers, technicians, and directors. For character breakdowns, to download audition sides, and to get more info, visit: theatreworks.us/actors.
Rehearsals begin in October with performances running December 5 to January 3, 2015. TheatreWorks is an award-winning, non-Equity theatre company, named Best Community Theater in Connecticut for 2014 by Connecticut Magazine. TheatreWorks is located on 5 Brookside Avenue, just off Route 202 (next to the CVS), in New Milford, CT.
